Doa yang dibaca di Hari Merdeka Ogos 31, 1957

Doa yang dibaca pada Hari Kemerdekaan 31hb Ogos 1957 ketika pengisytiharan Kemerdekaan Negara di Stadium Merdeka oleh Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra al-Haj.

PEMANDU's self-praise to milk government

The attack toward PEMANDU as responsible for the poor performance of Barisan Nasional in the recent General Election was not taken lying down by them.

The Choice [read here] claimed the policy and program generated by PEMANDU is working and should continue. They are the only portal defending PEMANDU but it sounds like only PEMANDU praising themselves.

None had defended PEMANDU in the Internet since most pro-UMNO bloggers are aware of the game played by Omar Ong in helping put Pakatan Rakyat's campaign. Blog Gelagat Anwar warned in August 2011 here.

One source informed us that the feedbback effort to maintain their existence is actually an effort to form a high level Committee formed by PEMANDU to advise the Cabinet. It would mean that the cabinet will be reduced to a mere stamping office to endorse PEMANDU's recomendation or more accurately, instruction.

Pre-Merdeka history for the foolish, dumb and blind

Merdeka Day is coming.

While tomorrow is Tanda Putera's premier, there is a group organising a public forum entitled Merdeka 100%: Sejarah yang digelapkan.

One will expect names such as Kesatuan Melayu Muda (KMM), Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya (PKMM), their youth wing, Angkatan Pemuda Insaf (API) and woman wing, Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS) together with Parti Komunis Malaya (PKM) being bandied around conveniently with ill intentions.

It will be nothing more than an over-simplified, melancholic, and spinned version of history by a group described by blogger Desaru With Love here as "bebal, tuli dan buta sejarah" (foolish, dumb and blind on history).

Husam's fury with Murphy

Murphy's law states that "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong".

When his luck ran out, anything that can possibly go wrong to Dato Husam Musa, does go wrong. He is now in a foul mood with Murphy and we are only too pleased to see him be taught a lesson in humility.

Already, the PAS assemblyman for Salor turned down offers from Kelantan Mentri Besar, Dato Ahmad Yaacob for chairmanship of two state-owned companies.

This is giving a picture that all is not well between him and the state government.

Beginning of the end for Anwar in Sabah

When Dato Lajim Ukin left BN to join Pakatan Rakyat coalition in Sabah in July 2012, we wrote Lajim's planned departure hardly left a dent. That was at a time when Anwar was trying to pull off another 916 to draw out BN's Sabah politicians into Pakatan Rakyat.

We had confidence with the Aman brothers which we described elder brother Dato Musa Aman as politically shrewd that one an call him as Yahudi Melayu Terakhir when it comes to Sabah politics. [Read it in April 2012 posting here].

The Lahad Datu incident may have helped boost patriotism and BN but even when the RCI was on-going, we were confident it will open Anwar's Pandora box instead of hurting Tun Dr Mahathir's legacy and BN's Sabah politics. [Read it here.]

Don't comment till you've seen it

The Mole article today reads Chinese should watch Tanda Putera, don't be fooled by Tony Pua. which links to a Malay article on The Unspinners here.

There is a nice rhyming in that title between Putera and Pua.

Tony Pua was trying to act like a citizen concerned that the film Tanda Putera will raise inter-racial tension. He was never concerned when the Lim was provoking the Malays' sensitivity.

If he is concerned, why he didn't warned his fellow DAP members from trying to turn the recent police actions to address organised crime into a racial issue of Malay versus Indian?

Tony Pua and many others are trying hard to get the public to not attend the movie Tanda Putera as though their political fortune rests on it.

As Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba's message at the relaunching of the film, "don't comment till you've seen it." Quite sure Tony Pua have not seen it.

"MCA" burning the case, PMO just watch and see?

Someone told us that The Star's frontpage headline yesterday was "Who killed Altantunya?"

It is unfortunate that we can't find the image on the Internet, otherwise we would have used it instead of an image of Nero fiddling as he watch and see Rome burn to dust.

He felt MCA's own newspaper is trying hard to incite public anger on the issue. Knowing the party allegiance of those like June Wong, Leanne Goh, Wong Siah Ping, Martin Vendesan, Regina Lee, and many more [Read ... indeep tots here, Helen Ang here and The Unspinners here], it is only expected.

Our concern is more on: Will PMO still repeat the same old game 7 years ago of keeping quiet hoping that everything will quiet down, which it never did?

This one will not quiet down. [Read past posting here and Bigdog here.]

What will the rumour mill say next? [up-dated]

The appeal court overturned the decision of the lower court to convict Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar for the murder of Mongolian working girl Altantunya Shaaribuu seven years ago.

As we understood it, they had admitted to the police of their act and showed the investigating officer the site they blasted the victim's body to smithereens with C4 explosive.

It has already involved the court and for a capital crime like murder, any conviction will have to be beyond reasonable doubt. It's got nothing to do with the truth, only God knows, but case will be decided based on acceptable and presentable fact and evidences. Furthermore, it means that there must be no shred of doubts in the case fact and evidences.

Since this has become a politically explosive case, they will be rumour mongers creating political doubt on someone.

Where were you and what were you doing when Tun Razak's body was brought back from London?

The American have a favourite question for social conversation: Where were you and what were you doing when Kennedy got shot? It shows the Americans great sense of their history and how much they endeared the Kennedy in the past.

For us Malaysians, we should be asking that same question but instead, the event is the return of Tun Razak's body from London.

At that moment, the whole country was glued to the television upon the announcement of his death on January 14, 1976 by then Deputy Tun Hussein Onn.

Everyone was rushing to pay their last respect to a great leader that wash away evil from bitter experiance of May 13, 1969. Miles of people queued at parliament.

Attention was on the return of the body by MAS, procession from Parliament to Masjid Negara, and the burial at the Makam Pahlawan next to the grave of his earlier Deputy, Tun Dr Ismail Abd Rahman.

Tun Dr Ismail died two years five months earlier on August 2, 1973 [read here].

Zestful indifference to safety

Spending too much time on the general election, we must have missed some news on Air Asia.

In many previous postings [read here], we've discussed of Tony F's plan to have a publicly listed Air Asia subsidiary in every country in Asia and possibly Europe. It raised our concern before that it could start a contagion effect on the financial market of the region.

Airline operation requires heavy funding. For fear, the European and American market will close up on Air Asia's funding for many issues on their operations including safety, Tony F went for the regional bourses.

It could serve to by-pass local regulatory restrictions and a useful "arm twisting" as he threatened to move to Indonesia.

Only thing was his takeover of Batavia Air was aborted and the Indonesian grass is not as green as he thought any grass on the other side should be. He scraped through Thai listing but had to pullout of Japan. But, we weren't aware that Tony F bought Zest Airways.

Since one of Tony's troll wants to play cheap diversion game on the issue of safety on Air Asia, he is a special posting. Other issues will have to be on standby.

Tony F ... you're fired!

We will never own a single shares in Air Asia because it is not worthy of the price and more so that we are reading a financial disaster is awaiting to happen.

But, if by some fluke inheritance that we happen to be a shareholder in Air Asia, we would stood up in their Annual General Meeting to voice concern in the shameTan Sri Tony Fernandez brought to his Tan Sri title and the company.

Air Asia cheat passengers by overcharging and not disclosing true charges. They couldn't care less with the comfort of their passengers for having to wait a long time.

They hide behind the fine prints of agreements and term of sales. The company goes for revenue without any sense of ethics and concern for human lives. They adulterated the accounting policy to boost up revenue and profit and loss.

Tony F keep making statements to deceive the public and indirectly the shareholders. The man talks about being world class but his operation has no transparency and secretive to shareholders. They are never honest and every statement and manouver has ulterior motives.

With the latest pathetic PR stunt in handling their own crisis management at Manila Airport, which resemble an amateur businessman on The Apprentice, we would have said it loudly in the AGM, "Tony F ... you're fired!"

MUSICAL INTERLUDE: Dimming of the Day (Bonnie Raitt)

This old house is falling down around my ears
I'm drowning in a river of my tears
When all my will is gone you hold me sway
I need you at the dimming of the day

You pulled me like the moon
Pulls on the tide
You know just where I keep my better side

Pak Lah to bring back Anwar to UMNO?

When you reach to pet a sleeping dog, you risk startling them and getting attacked, thus the idiom, "Let sleeping dogs lie."

It suggest that you are better off to leave a topic alone or not talk about things which have caused problems in the past. Do not instigate trouble and leave something alone if it might cause trouble.

Lastly, do not try to change a situation because you might cause problems.

Pak Lah should have kept quiet and sleep out the rest of his retirement.

He can try to deny and Khairy can get Lokman Nor Adam to blast a second SMS denial. Former Principal Secretary can get his man to issue a denial. Bridget Welsh can change the planned launch of the book.

It's too late. Pak Lah has awaken the dogs. Alert dogs sniff and sense trouble from afar.

No denial of vengence towards Dr Mahathir

An hour before our posting yesterday here, Sin Chew.com published a Bernama report containing Pak Lah's denial.

So it was not considered in our previous posting. One commentator used that to discredit us and claim we denied his right to give his side of the story.

This posting is about giving Pak Lah's side of the story. But, does his response make sense?

The Bernama report below:

Whose feeling the heat?

The Awakening of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi or more precisely, the book "Awakening: The Abdullah Ahmad Badawi days in Malaysia" postphoned it's launching.

That was what Bridget Welsh said and Rocky commented here that her excuse does not jive. She use the excuse that the book is being overly politicised but attempted to politicise the book by having Nurul Izzah launch the book on August 30th in Singapore.

That event is not postphoned. Only postphoned is the Malaysian launch on August 16th which was supposedly to be attended by Abdullah and Tun Musa.

Is somebody feeling the heat from the controversies the book has generated so far?

Empire strikes back from Singapore [up-dated]

Something really strange about Pak Lah's book cover.

It does not mention the author's name but only the editors; pro-Anwar Ibrahim American lecturer-writer, Bridget Welsh and James UH Chin. Already mentioned in earlier posting here that it is published by SUARAM's publisher, Strategic Information and Research Development Centre (SIRD), Kuala Lumpur.

One would wonder whether this is an opposition dirty trick to publish a book claimed as Pak Lah's but not highlighting Pak Lah as author.  Moreover, Sundaily reported Nurul Izzah will launch the book in Singapore on August 30th.

It only confirms the involvement of the former Singapore's intel chief in government of the previous administration, Dato Kalimullah Hasan. But Pak Lah?

Pak Lah's "tiada maaf" raya revenge

Two days before Hari Raya, Malaysiakini published a report at 5:00 PM [read here] about Pak Lah's sleep apnea condition. Why raise that issue now?

If he had a CPAP condition, he should have immediately got himself a CPAP machine to solve his daytime drowsy condition. But instead, he got himself a used Serani cipap.

He does not need to wait till 2013 to tell everyone. The boys at MyKMU had been talking about 7-8 years ago. This blogger truly can relate to CPAP problem. It has to be more than that.

By night, the real reason begin to surface - Malaysiakini 9:00 PM and Malay Mail Online at 9:17 PM (read in Bigdog's blog here) - in that Pak Lah had written a book, Awakening, the Abdullah years in Malaysia.

The instant impression is Pak Lah is working with the opposition and trying to help his men to win the UMNO party election. Looks like the Empire strikes back. Pak Lah is known to be quiet but he i widely known to be vengeful.

He takes the right time for Hari Raya to tell the world he wants to get even. So it looks like tiada maaf bagi mu, Mahathir.

The art of inciting racial hatred

Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary General,. Lim Guan Eng is in hot soup arising from the prospect of DAP having to reconvene another party election and face the prospect of 753 angry Indian and other DAP delegates overthrow the Lim family.

The false CEC is considering of passing the buck to ROS for the convenience of turning it into a political issue to blame them later when DAP is deregistered. It is not far fetch to expect DAP leaders to label ROS as UMNO stooge to sabotage DAP. Hopefully, both Chinese and gullible non-Chinese will hate UMNO further.

It is a typical of political opportunist and promoter of politics of hatred.

Ethic-less in Putrajaya

There was a development in our probe in yesterday's posting on the Omar Ong's manipulatable CEO of Putrajaya Holding Sdn Bhd (PJH).  [Read here]

Someone managed to got in touch with us to highlight that the contract has not been awarded yet. The WCT news linked yesterday [see here] was with regard to Presinct 2 and not Parcel F.  To err is human.

But, the source did confirmed that CEO Dato Azlan is bias towards WCT and Sunway. He is not interested to give others a fair hearing and consideration. Not only that, he intend to give all the four sections to only WCT and Sunway.

That is unethical and that is the issue we wish to raise today. Most of this unethical practise involves Government servants and those holding positions of authorities. It is counterproductive and deviate from the fundamental reason Government give out public work.

Otherwise, Government might as well corporatise JKR into a GLC and give all work to them.

Discrimination in Putrajaya leads to Omar Ong

Some years back, there was an article on Malaysia Today about discriminatory practices in Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd (PJH), the developer of Putrajaya.

Good thing that the 2010 article can still be found. It ia about PJH staff being sacked enbloc upon the entry of new shareholders KLCC. The strange thing is PJH and KLCC Holdings are subsidiaries of Petronas and it is merely a corporate re-organisation. [Read it here.]

PJH also has some strange ways of doing things, as a blogger The Flying Kick [read here] ranted about the design of a new Masjid of Putrajaya in 2011 that is devoid of Islamic symbolism and looks more like a new age church or highly stylised hangar for Airbus A380.

It seems such strange and discriminatory attitude is also practiced in dishing out contracts for the commercial development of Parcel F which is located next to the Gemilang bridge at Putrajaya.

TPPA: Litigation and Power of Government

The MITI Open Day on TPPA will be held this morning beginning at 9 AM. at Martrade Building.

There have been many concerns raised and MITI should set the record straight because this country does not belong to only government official and politicians but more the people. There is no such thing as being more concern for other countries.

The one major concern in the back of every red blooded patriotic Malaysian is sovereignty.

The not so patriotic ones do not care. They leave the country and Talentcorp stupidly paid taxpayers money to entice them back with preferential salary over others willing to do service to the nation at already accepted payscale. .

On this issue, we extract from Dr Mahathir's blog posting, below:

My Say
